First, it is required to install \u201cActive Directory Domain Services\u201d on the Windows Server. Then the server should be promoted as a \u201cDomain Controller\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>Server Manager<\/strong>, go to&nbsp;<strong>Manage<\/strong>, and click&nbsp;<strong>Add Roles and Features<\/strong>. It opens the&nbsp;<strong>Add Roles and Features Wizard<\/strong>. Provide a password for&nbsp;<strong>Directory Services Restore Mode&nbsp;<\/strong>and click&nbsp;<strong>Next.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(<strong>Note:&nbsp;<\/strong>DSRM password is required when booting the domain controller into recovery mode)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/miro.medium.com\/v2\/resize:fit:700\/1*LhFeOXvfhohNs4VZrnGz5w.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Ignore the warning given in DNS Options page.
